heya

is anyone looking to share a place for gencon this year?
I have a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment booked in at 43 PEEL ST SOUTH BRISBANE.
this is one block over and up from the con.

I plan to be staying from the 16th to the 22nd.

It's 150 a night, sadly they had no single rooms so I had to take the last double.

it's a full apartment, with seperate bathrooms, a full size kitchen and lounge.

shared this is 75 a night, if you are interested drop me a PM in here please.

Brad

Hey Brad,
I am booked into the South Central apartments with a couple of friends too. Even at $150 a night they were still cheap compared to hotel rooms. Others should check it out (we just did a WotIf search).

Perhaps some late night games will be afoot!

I sort of found it by accident, one of my clients did all the steel formwork for the building.

It sounds like this is the party building ;)

I'm going to be in on the wednesday night, so plenty of time to volunteer!

I hope everyone else is too :D

I unfortuneately won't arrive until Thursday evening, but one of my flatmates will be there Wednesday.

What are you planning on playing, seeing or doing? I will be helping to run the Indie Games on Demand on Friday and Saturday and on panels Sunday morning, but am hoping to get to play some games too!

I live some what locally, on the Gold Coast, so staying at the apartment is more a bonus for me than a real requirement, it does however give me much longer time at the con since the trains and public transport would eat up too much sleep/con time. I plan to train up on tuseday and help out with setup for a few hours, then come back on wednesday, check in and start over at the convention center again. There are a lot of tables to set up, bags to prepare and general running about.

At the convention I plan to do what ever is needed, maybe a little (read lot!) shopping and a looking at new game demos, maybe some simple pickup games. I'm not a torny player. I do hope to have some more munchkin games. That was an awesome game last year.

If 2008 is an indication, odds are high I'll be one of the people in the booth that everyone comes to see, the long line up to get an entry pass :) I did that for 5 days last year, it was a heck of a lot of fun, if somewhat crazy busy at times. It was a great place for meeting people and seeing some old friends I'd not seen in 3 or 5 years.

Gen Con Oz 2009 is going to be fantastic.
